About Troop 374

Troop 374 is located in Bellefontaine Neighbors, Missouri.
For our address and information about our meetings, Click on 'Troop Meetings' (below).

Bellefontaine Neighbors is a suburb in North St. Louis County. We are members of the North Star District, Greater St. Louis Area Council #312 in St. Louis, Missouri.

Our Troop is sponsored by the World Brotherhood Men’s Club of Friedens Chapel . We have been helping the youth of North St. Louis County since we were chartered in 1955. The Church was not built until 1957, so, the first meeting, held in the kitchen of the old White Mansion house on the property. There were six boys present. The Scoutmaster was named Ed Hurtel, the first committee meeting was held in the dinning room of Marty Benzen's house.

Troop 374 is made up of registered scouts and adult volunteers. Together we try to understand the meaning of scouting and to bring the Scout Oath and Law out of the handbook and into our lives. Through weekly meetings and monthly camping trips, we strive towards the goal of developing young men into adults. At Christmas we provide a community service and build our operating budget by selling Christmas Trees. This is a LOT of fun, and it sure beats selling candy bars door to door.
